WORKSHOP ANGEBOT: Vodoo Sessions<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n

Haben Sie schon einmal erlebt, das sich Musiker, die sich nie zuvor gesehen haben, zu einem Workshop treffen und dort 2 Stunden gemeinsam spielen, ohne auch nur ein Notenblatt vor sich zu haben?<\/p>\n

Alles ist in dieser Zeit musikalisch m\u00f6glich. Mal wird aus den Musikern ein Chor, mal eine funkige Band, dann wieder ein sph\u00e4risches Ensemble und vielleicht geht die Reise auch nach Brasilien. Wirklich alles ist m\u00f6glich.<\/p>\n

Unter der Anleitung von Hans Peter Salentin, einem musikalisch sehr breit aufgestellten Ausnahmemusiker und Komponisten beginnt gleich nach der Vorstellung der einzelnen Teilnehmer die gemeinsame Reise.<\/p>\n

\u201eWir gehen zur\u00fcck zum Ursprung der Musik\u201c, betont Salentin.
\n\u201eJemand gibt etwas vor und darauf wird reagiert.
\nSo funktioniert auch jedes gute Gespr\u00e4ch\u201c.
\nEs sind \u201eH\u00f6ren\u201c und \u201eNachspielen\u201c \u2013 \u201eCall and Response\u201c.<\/p>\n

Diese hier von Salentin angewandte Technik \u00f6ffnet den Einzelnen f\u00fcr die Musik, ohne gleichzeitig kognitiv zu arbeiten.
\n(Blattlesen, etc.)
\nDas Wort \u201eArbeit\u201c kommt bei Salentin in diesem Zusammenhang nicht vor.
\nEs geht um ein au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnliches gemeinsames Erleben, wobei auch solistisches Spiel gef\u00f6rdert und weiterentwickelt wird.<\/p>\n

In einer Pause haben die Teilnehmer die M\u00f6glichkeit, das Erlebte untereinander auszutauschen.<\/p>\n

Danach werden die Erfahrungen gemeinsam mit Hans Peter Salentin aufgearbeitet.
\nViele wesentliche Aspekte der Musik werden angesprochen, z.B.:<\/p>\n

– Analytisches H\u00f6ren,
\n– Verbesserung des Zusammenspiels
\n– Anleitungen zur Improvisation

Nach einer folgenden l\u00e4ngeren Pause wird vorhandenes Notenmaterial, sei es eigenes Big Band Repertoire oder vor dem Workshop an die Teilnehmer verschickte St\u00fccke erarbeitet und gespielt.
\nNun wird wieder am Kognitiven gearbeitet und Aspekte des Zusammenspiels gef\u00f6rdert.
\nMusik ist nie eine Selbstdarstellung des Einzelnen.
\nSie entsteht immer im respektvollen gemeinsamen Spiel.<\/p>\n

So haben die Teilnehmer am Ende dieses Workshops die Gelegenheit, noch einmal zu \u201eFreiem\u201c Zusammenspiel zur\u00fcckzukehren oder auch eine erarbeitete Komposition zu spielen.<\/p>\n

Salentin hat sein Konzept auf professionelle Ensemble\/Big Bands (Landesjugend Big Bands etc.), Schul- und Musikschul- Big Bands
\nund auf Ch\u00f6re \u00fcbertragen.<\/p>\n

Es f\u00fchrt immer zu einem au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnlichen Gemeinschaftserlebnis.<\/p>\n

Hello from Cologne, my name is Hans Peter Salentin and I am a trumpeter, composer and professor for Jazz at the University of music in W\u00fcrzburg. I would like to offer you a proposal for a musical ,,Vodoo Session\u201c\u00a0 which sounds like\u00a0a funny name, but let me explain what it really means.<\/div>\n
I have been doing this for several years with great success and just recently finished a great one in Poland that ran for 5 days.<\/div>\n
The number of musicians in a session can be anything between 10 to 60 or more.<\/div>\n
Have you ever experienced a group of musicians who have never met before, coming together at a workshop and jamming for 2 hours without a single sheet of music in front of them?<\/div>\n
Anything goes in these sessions.<\/div>\n
Sometimes the musicians spontaneously form a choir, sometimes a funky band or an ambient ensemble and maybe the musical journey takes us to Brazil.
Absolutely everything is possible.<\/div>\n
Under the guidance of Hans Peter Salentin, an exceptional musician and composer with a very broad and professional musical background, the journey begins immediately after the introduction of the individual participants.<\/div>\n
\u201eWe go back to the origin of music itself\u201c, Salentin emphasises.
\u201eOne of the musicians plays a phrase and others react to it.
That\u2019s how every decent dialoge works\u201c.
We \u201elisten\u201c and \u201ereply\u201c \u2013 \u201ecall and response\u201c.<\/div>\n
This approach allows the individual to perceive and contribute to the music without the need of working cognitively at the same time.
(no sight reading, etc.)
Actually Salentin never uses the word \u201ework\u201c in this context.
Instead it is all about the extraordinary collective experience, in which solo playing is also encouraged and further developed.<\/div>\n
During a break, the participants have the opportunity to exchange their experiences with each other and discuss them under the guidance of Hans Peter Salentin.
Many essential aspects of making music will be addressed, f.e.:

\u2013 Improvement of interplay

The cognitive aspects will take the center in this part of the session and the focus will be on the aspects of playing together.
Music should never be a self-portrayal of the individual but
a respectful interchange between the contributing musicians.
At the end of this workshop, the participants have the opportunity to return to \u201efree\u201c interplay or to perform an elaborated composition.<\/div>\n
Salentin\u2019s concept works equally great for professional and non-professional ensembles\/big bands (Landesjugend big bands etc.), school and music school big bands
and choirs.<\/div>\n
Any Vodoo session always leads to an extraordinary collective experience.<\/div>\n
