Gestern Mittwoch den 18.082021, starb Paul Düster.

Eine sehr traurige Nachricht , die mir seine langjährige Frau Elke Roitzheim zu kommen lies.

Sprachlos war und bin ich.

Zum 2ten Male in kürzester Zeit, nur sprachlos.

Es hatte sich angebahnt und trotzdem kam es wie aus dem Nichts.

Mein Verhältnis zu Paul entstand vor Jahren aus einer professionellen Situation.

Ich spielte ein Konzert und er machte Photos.

Über die Jahre hat er immer wieder Photos gemacht, so wohl bei Konzerten,

als auch für meine beruflichen Aktivitäten.

Und dann tauchte er immer bei den lokalen Sport Events auf, die mich interessierten.

Das war unsere eigentliche Leidenschaft : Sport und das auf allen Ebenen,

von der 3ten Kreisklasse bis zur Bundesliga.

Er war der Verein, die Mannschaft, der Einzelspieler.

Er kannte jeden und jede , war interessiert, schaute alles , was mit Sport zu tun hatte.

Er kannte jeden und jede/r kannte ihn.

Er war der Paul, der Photos machte , die man dann Montags in den Medien sehen konnte.

Übrigens haben wir beide die gleiche Idee eines Photos: man muss die Situation erahnen und dann schießen.

Seine Photos waren Weltklasse, weil sie alles über das Spiel sagten.

Auch gab es dann Montags oder Dienstags kontroverse Telephonate von verschiedensten Seiten, warum den Spieler und nicht den Anderen , warum nicht die Situation abgedruckt in den Zeitungen erschien.

Viele haben seine Bilder verstanden.

Ich immer.

Der Druck am Wochende gute Bilder und Artikel abzuliefern war enorm.

.

Wir haben zusammen Handball -BAM, Basketball DJK , Volleyball ( Marmagen Frauen -was für eine gute Zeit und Düren Powervolleys ) geschaut und uns über die jeweilige Mannschaft ausgetauscht.

Es war immer, als wären wir der Verein und so ging es um Leistungsstände, Prognosen, Sponsoren, Möglichkeiten und das war für uns beide , eine gute Zeit.

Für mich : eine sehr gute Zeit.

Es waren mal längere mal kürzere Treffen, oft auch auf dem Sprung zum nächsten Termin.

Aber immer noch Zeit für ein kurze Pause, die ich nicht weiter ausführen möchte.

( Ich grinse ein wenig )

Sport war bestimmt nicht Pauls einzige Seite.

Da werden andere Anderes schreiben.

Es war unsere Verbindung und das werde ich sehr vermissen.

Das ist Paul für mich:

Ein Typ, ein Mensch, der gute und schwere Zeiten erlebt hat.

Ein Mann , der oft gekämpft hat und bestimmt noch nicht gehen wollte.

Er ist gegangen und Elke bleibt.

Dir Elke ,wünsche ich alles Gute und drück dich !

After nearly 3 weeks in Poland … many concerts , 2 long workshops …

teaching many young people,

i had great music and moments in music and some moments just : different ( lol ) …

it’s at a point , I want to say thank you to all my old and new friends from

Poland, Ukrainia, Israel, Germany,

you all did the best you can and more 🙂

… and thank you my polish friends for big support .

It was very strange to leave my hometown,

but you gave me friendship and music :

Unter der Leitung von Julia Sawicka fand der diesjährige einwöchige Jazz Workshop in Leszno Polen statt.

 

Immer wieder ist es  ein beeindruckendes Erlebnis , wie sich Menschen am Anfang des Workshops treffen und dann als Freunde gehen.

Danke auch für diese Gelegenheit dies  erfahren zu dürfen.

Neben all der Arbeit mit den Trompetern und den Combos sind

einmalige Erlebnisse.

 

findet diese oft als 2 Tägige Geschichte statt, so war dies in Leszno 5x 1 Std..

 

Das hatte schon auch besondere Moment, zB als wir gemeinsam nach Brasilien reisten und an der Cocacabana das Girl von Ipanema zu suchten und fanden um dann wenig später in  Paris landeten , wo die Atmoshere , Danke an Jarek Buszukowski -Akkordeon, sofort spürbar wurde……

Der diesjährige Workshop fand , unter  Covid Bedingungen statt.

Ein schweres Unterfangen, was aber erfolgreich absolviert wurde.

 

Hier einige Bild Impressionen vom Workshop und  nach 1 1/2 Jahren,  wieder ein Konzert.

 

Das war durchaus bemerkenswert, weil es zu meinem 60ten Geburtstag stattfinden sollte.

Angesicht der Katastrophe , die sich nur wenige Tage vor dem Konzert abgespielt hat,

war dies in der Form nicht möglich.

Ich habe das Konzert den Leuten gewidmet , die zu Hause von der Katastrophe getroffen waren und den Zuhörern, die Jahre vorher von einem schweren Oder Hochwasser getroffen wurden.

I love to isolate just the flugelhorn, and either add some rain sounds, or add it to some light coffee house sounds, perhaps with some 88 Keys for the effect of hearing some live jazz.● Something about this feels so reflective and sad. For me, this is like the embodiment of knowing you are about to pass away, and sitting on a bench in a park, watching pensively as young life (the children) innocently plays around you. Lying on the floor watching Bionic Woman and Charlie’s Angels and Wonder Woman and Hart to Hart. Listening to my brother and his friends outside. Empathizing too well with the poignant and disappointing lesson at the end of the episode as the credits roll.● I’ve been smartworking with this in the background the whole afternoon and found it made me feel… well, cosy and comfortable as I type at the keyboard, watching the sun set and the room grow darker. The flugelhorn and bells seem to do the magic for me, but I prefer to tone down the voices. I’ll certainly get back to this generator again!● I miss being a kid. So this is just right for me.● This is amazing! This brings back so many memories. A brand new page and my nostalgia levels went through the ROOF. Thank you.
