finishing university of music Würzburg after 37 years……
after 37 years, i retire from my Professor ship for Jazz Trumpet-Combo and Big Band
at Hochschule für Musik Würzburg
by the way : no job is without guys ,who supportet you and in this case :
thank you to Leszek Zadlo !
He brought me into Herman Zilcher Konservatorium Würzburg !
1988 or a little later , for shure after great talks and again support , in this case by Jürgen Hahn !!!!
And later Leszek was my chief at CHO Jazz summerworkshop Poland –
At Konservatory Würzburg I met Chris Beier and he did outstanding job to get
the Jazz Departement of Konservatorium into the Hochschule für Musik Würzburg,
which gave me the chance to become a Professor
This was not so easy – i tryed in Berlin and Köln too and Würzburg was third and after 2 stressful days check, including concert, with Michael Wollny -Kriener -Ley i got the job.
Later in years Piotre Baron brought me to International Jazz Workshop Leszno – Poland and things went over the years very very good.- my cooperation with Yamaha ( Thomas Lubitz and Eddie Veit later on ) and now since decades with Adams Brass , is realy a good and happy part of my live.
Miel Adams is the man.
So, i,m concentrating now on my summer workshops- meeting friends again and make new friends..challenging is only the border at the moment.–
my last thoughts and wishes for HFM Würzburg with 4 shure a little less open minded Jazz in future : Guys , you have exams now.
Never forget : you do and play , because you want this.
I know it,s also mental stress for some,
but don,t forget : it,s your life and you choosed to go this way.
You play , because YOU want it. And i want too. I go practice now. That’s it.
